About Bryan Myers
Bryan Myers is a Canadian journalist from Oakville, Ontario currently based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Currently, Bryan is the special sections editor for the Edmonton Sun.
He is a digital-media journalist who works primarily in print.
Bryan’s career started at Sheridan College where he began as a features writer for TRAVIS Magazine before taking on the role of editor-in-chief.
After numerous blogging gigs, Bryan moved to Alberta to become a municipal politics reporter for the Meridian Booster in Lloydminster, Alberta.
Having demonstrated strong leadership skills and above average news sense, Bryan became the editor of the Booster’s sister paper in Vermilion, Alberta, before returning to the Booster as managing editor.
As a managing editor he implemented a social media strategy that improved the digital edition traffic by 20 per cent.
While Bryan’s career has gravitated towards leadership roles, he’s a jack-of-all-trades media professional who pursues opportunities to write, edit, photograph, and design on projects outside of work.
In 2013, Bryan was awarded the second place prize for the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association’s Best Feature Photo.
In Lloydminster, Bryan got involved in the community as a Rotarian and sat on the board for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lloydminster.
Bryan Myers has a bachelor of arts degree in English from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Outside of work, Bryan is an avid outdoors enthusiast who enjoys hiking, biking, and camping.
